We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join our retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent service to customers, maintaining store organisation, and supporting sales through effective merchandising and upselling techniques. Fluency in multiple languages, including English and Spanish, is highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base. Duties
Greet customers warmly and assist them with their enquiries in a professional manner.
Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring stock levels are maintained.
Utilise upselling techniques to maximise sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Handle transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, including processing payments and issuing receipts.
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor, ensuring products are well-presented at all times.
Manage stock replenishment efficiently, including unpacking deliveries and organising stockrooms.
Provide product information and recommendations to customers based on their needs.
Use effective communication skills to liaise with team members and support a cohesive work environment.
Demonstrate organisational skills by managing multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods.
Uphold phone etiquette when handling enquiries via telephone or online platforms.
Requirements
Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly and professional demeanour.
Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions accurately.
Experience in merchandising or retail sales is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Ability to demonstrate good phone etiquette when interacting with customers remotely.
Proven organisational skills to keep the shop environment tidy and well-stocked.
Ability to work well within a team and independently as required.
