Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing excellent service to customers, supporting merchandising activities, and maintaining an organised retail environment. Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their enquiries in a professional manner Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring shelves are well-stocked Upsell products where appropriate to maximise sales opportunities Handle transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system and process payments efficiently Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor, stockroom, and display areas Provide information about products in multiple languages, including English and Spanish, to cater to diverse customers Manage stock levels by receiving deliveries and organising stock storage Utilise strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer calls or enquiries Assist with organising promotional events or special displays as required Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Skills

Multilingual skills, particularly fluency in English and Spanish, are highly desirable Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and stock counts Effective time management to ensure all duties are completed efficiently within shifts Good phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or via email Ability to work well within a team while also demonstrating independence when needed Merchandising knowledge to create appealing product displays and optimise sales opportunities
