Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Shuttering Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in formwork and concrete forming, with a strong background in carpentry and construction site operations. This role involves constructing, installing, and dismantling formwork for concrete structures, ensuring safety, precision, and adherence to project specifications. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within the construction industry, utilizing a wide range of carpentry skills and tools.

Duties

Construct, install, and remove formwork for concrete structures using hand tools and power tools Read and interpret detailed construction drawings to ensure accurate formwork setup Measure and cut materials such as wood, metal, or plastic to specified dimensions for form construction Fabricate custom forms and supports as required for specific project needs Install rebar and other reinforcement materials within formwork according to engineering specifications Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely on-site Ensure all formwork is level, plumb, and properly aligned before concrete pouring Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to meet project deadlines and quality standards Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations

Requirements

Knowledge of concrete forming techniques including fabrication of forms and installation of fixtures. A CSCS Card is essential and any additional training is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed Strong understanding of safety standards on construction sites including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to read technical drawings accurately
