. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment at nightlife venues including pubs and late-night bars. This is a frontline position that requires professionalism, good judgment, and the ability to manage incidents effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Access Control & Screening
Monitor entry and exit points
Check IDs and conduct searches where required
Ensure compliance with venue entry policies and licensing conditions
Security & Incident Management
Deter antisocial behaviour and maintain a calm, authoritative presence
Respond professionally to incidents or disturbances, using de-escalation techniques
Remove individuals safely and lawfully if necessary
Compliance & Reporting
Enforce venue rules and monitor capacity limits
Complete incident reports and log security activity
Ensure all duties align with legal requirements and venue procedures
Communication & Team Coordination
Work closely with other security staff, venue management, and emergency services
Maintain clear, professional communication during operations
Customer Interaction
Provide a visible and approachable presence
Support patrons and assist with enquiries while maintaining order
Promote a safe and enjoyable environment for all
Shifts & Availability
Primarily
Friday and Saturday nights (9pm-3am)
Additional shifts may be available for events or weekdays
Flexibility required based on venue needs

Essential Requirements
Valid
SIA Door Supervisor Licence
Previous experience in a licensed nightlife setting (pubs, bars, clubs)
Excellent communication and conflict management skills
Well-presented, punctual, and reliable
Available to work every
Friday and Saturday night
, unless two weeks' notice is given
Desirable
First Aid certified (or willing to train)
Familiarity with Rugby's nightlife scene and local licensing law
Experience completing shift reports or incident documentation
