Job Description

Long O'Donnell are required to undertake diversionary works of its Gas assets to accommodate the Customer Infrastructure projects.

Long O'Donnell aim to provide Site Assurance Officer (SAO) support to the Capital Delivery Infrastructure development Project Delivery Team when carrying out modifications to the High and Intermediate pressure network across multiple projects.

This Project will run from August until January

Project Services Framework

Functional Accountabilities



Deliver and ensure compliance of all Capital projects to meet Gas Distribution requirements and project objectives

Be accountable for supervision and safe management of projects within Capital Delivery

Support the set up and initiation of projects (T002) to allow projects to be raised and initiated.

Support the close out of Projects in line with procedures

Support the tracking of project spend against sanctioned budget

Be responsible for liaising with Main Work Contractors to ensure that the competent project resources are deployed

Be responsible for reviewing that the project work scope is being complied with, in line with the contract that has been awarded

Responsible for monitoring CDM compliance of all works

Ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time and to appropriate levels of performance

Be responsible for participating in pre-start meetings.

Responsible for complying with the Capital Delivery Quality Management System (QMS).

Specialist Accountabilities



Be accountable for site visits to ensure that setting to work has taken place effectively, with the control documentation (NRO, PTW etc) briefed effectively, roles and responsibilities are clearly understood and followed/implemented

Be responsible for ensuring strict compliance with Safe Control of Operations (SCO)

Be responsible for ensuring compliance with management and control of new works, modifications and repair policies (e.g. G17/G19 process) for project work scope

Be accountable for ensuring adequate RAMS are in place for the project work scope

Be accountable for controlling project scope

Be accountable for ensuring compliance of contract and sub-contract provisions.

Qualifications, Technical Skills, Leadership Skills



HNC/SNVQ L4 or equivalent operational experience in network engineering techniques supported by relevant training or qualifications

IOSH

SCO 1,2,3,4.

Practical Experience



Minimum 3 years overall experience

Delivery of engineering projects preferable within the gas industry

Comprehensive knowledge of and understanding of gas plant and process systems

Broad knowledge of Gas distribution Core Processes

Strong understanding of risk management principles and tools

Strong understanding of HSE regulations relevant to role

Strong understanding of Process Safety Principals

Sound knowledge of Network Operations and SCO requirements

Strong knowledge of engineering standards

Good communication Skills, verbal and written

Coaching, influencing skills
