Job Description

We're looking for a Site Engineer to join our growing engineering team. Whether you're an experienced engineer or just starting your career, this role offers the chance to work on major bulk earthworks projects across the UK.

You'll support the delivery of our technical engineering requirements on site, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and to the highest standards. Full support and training can be provided for junior-level candidates looking to develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities

Setting out and overseeing bulk earthworks activities using GPS and total station equipment (training provided for junior candidates). Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and geotechnical information. Monitoring earthworks progress, including cut/fill volumes and stockpile management. Supporting quality control processes such as level checks and compaction testing. Keeping accurate site records including diaries, reports, and as-built information. Working closely with site teams, subcontractors, and plant operators to ensure smooth delivery. Promoting and supporting safe working practices at all times. Assisting with planning and sequencing of works to meet project milestones. Contributing to continuous improvement within the Engineering team.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

A Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (or working towards one), or relevant site experience. Basic understanding of engineering principles and willingness to learn. Strong communication and teamwork skills. CSCS card (or ability to obtain one).

Preferred (but not essential for junior candidates):

Experience working on bulk earthworks or civil engineering projects. Knowledge of surveying equipment/software (e.g. Topcon, LSS etc). Understanding of earthworks methodologies or geotechnical principles. SSSTS/SMSTS or First Aid certification.
