Role Purpose
We are looking for an experienced and proactive electrically biased Facilities Manager to oversee and manage all building services and site infrastructure within our food manufacturing facility. Working within the Maintenance Department, the successful candidate will take primary responsibility for maintaining, improving, and ensuring compliance across building systems (heating, lighting, plumbing, and grounds maintenance) and statutory inspections.
This is a key role supporting both production uptime and site compliance, requiring a strong compliance background combined with general facilities management experience.
Main Responsibilities
:
Building Services
Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and compliance of all building services, including:
o Building electrical systems (Office lighting, small power distribution, emergency systems)
o Doors and security systems
o HVAC systems including air conditioning and office heating
o Plumbing and water systems including toilets & drainage
o External grounds, lighting, drainage, and site infrastructure
Lead and manage external contractors and service providers for facilities maintenance, reactive repairs, and project works.
Compliance
With the support of the other members of the Sedamyl team, ensure compliance with relevant facilities legislation, such as fire safety.
Management of Statutory Inspections , including:
o Legionella (L8)
o PSSR (Pressure Systems Safey Regulations)
o LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations)
o COSHH (Local Exhaust Ventilation testing)
Record Keeping
Manage and maintain facilities-related records, permits, and risk assessments (e.g., PAT testing, EICRs, etc.).
Contribute to the preparation and management of the facilities maintenance budget.
Coordinate facilities-related projects such as office refurbishments, lighting upgrades, or site improvement initiatives.
Work closely with the site HSE team to ensure building systems support food safety, hygiene, and GMP requirements.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and safety in plant rooms, utility areas, and external zones.
Participate in internal and external audits and inspections.
