Site Manager - Flat Roofing & Waterproofing

Overview:

We are working in partnership with a leading specialist waterproofing contractor to recruit an experienced and proactive

Site Manager

for a major flat roofing project in the Reading area. This is a flagship scheme -- one of the most prestigious roofing contracts currently underway in the capital -- offering the opportunity to work alongside an industry-leading team and deliver work to the highest standards.

Due to the project's location,

a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential

, as the site is not accessible via public transport and is situated approximately 20 minutes by car from Reading train station.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate all on-site waterproofing and roofing activities Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification Manage installation of both

temporary (Cold Melt)

and

permanent (Hot Melt)

waterproofing systems Supervise subcontractors and site operatives Carry out daily briefings, toolbox talks, and enforce site health & safety procedures Manage site documentation, including RAMS, daily reports, progress records, and handover packs Liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication across the project team Contribute to planning, scheduling, and material coordination Maintain strict compliance with QA procedures and industry regulations Provide technical support and resolve site issues as they arise

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

Minimum

3 years' experience

managing flat roofing/waterproofing works on construction projects Demonstrable expertise in

Hot Melt

and

Liquid (Cold Melt)

waterproofing systems Experience working with or knowledge of

Radmat systems

is highly desirable

NVQ Level 3 or above

in a relevant trade Valid

CSCS card

(Manager or Skilled Worker)

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

certification Strong knowledge of UK health & safety regulations and best practices Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and comfortable using project planning or reporting software High level of written and verbal communication skills Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, especially in document control and compliance reporting

Desirable Attributes:

First Aid at Work (Essential) Experience delivering roofing packages for Tier 1 contractors or large-scale commercial projects Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with strict deadlines
