12 months rolling contract (temp to perm opportunity)

Doncaster/Enderby

Salary- C.\xc2\xa328,000

Working hours are: 06:45am - 15:15pm Monday to Thursday & 06:45am - 11:45am Friday.

My client is an international electricity company and one of the largest investor-owned Energy companies in the world. They play a vital role in delivering gas and electricity to many millions of people across Great Britain and North-Eastern US in an efficient, reliable and safe manner.

Job Purpose:

To assist the Production / Site Support Engineers providing both ET Operations Staff and contractors working on the client\'s behalf instruction, training and practical assistance with the installation and commissioning of refurbished assets and the ongoing maintenance and fault repair of committee design switchgear, ABCB and SF6 GCB populations. Support the delivery of refurbishment programs, assist with problem solving and support to the business. Participate in assurance and audit related activities for the refurbishment centres ensuring continued operations and maintenance of accreditations.

Working away from home when required on faults / refurbs assisting engineers and site staff on substation equipment. When not out traveling across the network in England and Wales you will be expected to fulfil duties within the production environment of the refurbishment centres working on substation assets within the workshops.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist with providing technical support to ET Operations and contractors on the installation of refurbished assets.
  • Assist with providing technical support to ET Operations and contractors for ongoing maintenance and fault repair of committee design switchgear, ABCB and GCB
  • Assist with ensuring gas handling equipment is maintained and calibrated in accordance with the F gas regulations.
  • Ensure refurbishment delivery standards are applied, maintained and continuous improvement methodologies are adopted.
  • Participate in corporate audit reviews and external audits to maintain accreditations and continued operation of all activities when required.
  • Assist with reviewing refurbishment delivery work specifications to ensure these meet quality and safety standards.
  • Participate in investigations relating to refurbishment faults and defects.
  • Participate in refurbishment R&D activities including the reverse engineering of materials and components following the correct process.
  • Liaise with wider refurbishment team and Engineering and Asset Management on refurbishment development, SOPs, work specifications and method statements.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
  • Knowledge relating to the operation and safety aspects of substation plant, together with routine fault-finding capability, plant analysis, operational tests and maintenance checks for switchgear assets.
  • Excellent influencing and team working skills to ensure delivery standards are met and maintained.
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001 and quality management systems
  • Experience with reading schedules / wire diagrams and panel wiring is desirable.
Qualifications Required:
  • NVQ2/3 in an engineering discipline
  • Full driving license essential
  • Competent Person experience under safety rules (desirable)
