Site Technician - Asphalt, Concrete & Soil Testing

We are seeking a reliable and motivated

Site Technician

to join our testing and inspection team. This role involves carrying out on-site testing and sampling of

asphalt, concrete, and soil

to support construction, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will enjoy working outdoors, have strong attention to detail, and be committed to delivering accurate and high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform on-site testing and sampling of

asphalt, concrete, and soil

in accordance with relevant standards and procedures Conduct field tests such as compaction, density, moisture content, slump, air content, and temperature checks Collect samples for laboratory testing and ensure correct handling, labeling, and transport Accurately record test results, site observations, and reports using paper or digital systems Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, and environmental requirements Liaise with site supervisors, engineers, and project managers to coordinate testing activities Maintain testing equipment, ensuring it is clean, calibrated, and fit for use Identify and report non-conformances or site issues promptly

About You:

Qualification or experience in

construction materials testing, civil engineering, or a related field

Previous experience in

asphalt, concrete, or soil testing

is desirable (training can be provided) Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. BS, EN, ASTM, or local specifications) is an advantage Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time pressures Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Good communication skills and a professional approach on site Full, valid driving licence (essential) Valid CSCS Card (essential)
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 16.00-19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
