We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Operator/Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating production machinery, ensuring quality control, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role requires strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service, as you will be interacting with team members and possibly clients.
Responsibilities
To follow all the Company's Health & Safety rules and guidelines at all times, reporting any 'Near Miss' or specific incidents immediately
To ensure all the relevant HACCP, quality, specification and GMP procedures are followed at all times, achieving the required standards
To comply with and assist other staff in HACCP, quality, product specification and GMP procedures
To report any failures or non-conformances in Health & Safety, HACCP, quality, specification, GMP and maintenance
To maintain a high standard of hygiene at all times, as specified in the Company's hygiene procedures
To maintain good team work and take personal responsibility for the task you have been assigned, prioritising customer demands when required
Be responsible for the area in which you work by being organised and 'Cleaning as You Go'
To work to Standard Operating Procedures as per your training;
To carry out all clean down requirements in accordance with the quality procedures
The filling and supply of Raw Materials for all High Speed & Hand Packing processes as required
Liaising with packing staff and fellow porters to ensure the correct materials are loaded
Driving and maintaining workplace organisation, by placing packaging and materials correctly
Identifying unused materials and packaging items for return to the warehouse;
To lead by example and guide both new employees and temporary workers in the expected standards;
To be involved in continuous improvement to support Company objectives;
Work to the objectives as provided by the Company and Leadership Team;
To carry out other duties that may be required.
Qualifications/Experience Required
Knowledge of Health & Safety, Metal Detection, Glass breakage and cleaning procedures advantageous
Basic Food Hygiene level 2
Basic Health & Safety training
Awareness of operational Policies; Food Safety, Glass Policy, Wood control, Metal control, Allergen Control, Hygiene Policy, Smoking Policy
Basic HACCP Training; Metal Detection, Sieving, Glass/Pot cleaning
Proficient in English, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective communication
Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is advantageous
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with colleagues
Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly and concisely
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated
