Snowflake Data Platform Engineer / Developer
London (Hybrid)
Contract Inside IR35/ FTE/ Permanent
We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Data Platform Engineer / Developer to join our growing data engineering team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with modern data technologies and play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimising large-scale data solutions.
The Role:

• Design, build, and optimise scalable data solutions on Snowflake, integrating with Azure Data Factory (ADF), DBT, SQL, and Python.
• Develop robust, well-structured, and tested code to deliver high-quality data products.
• Apply DevOps practices, including automated deployments and version control (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Git).
• Perform performance tuning and optimisation for very large datasets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
• Ensure solutions are designed for smooth transition to first-line support teams.

What you will bring:

• Strong SQL database development background.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, DBT, and Python.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, automated deployments, and source control tools.
• Proven expertise in performance tuning of large datasets.
• Strong problem-solving ability with logical, structured thinking.
• Skilled at engaging stakeholders and managing relationships effectively.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Background in Financial Services or other data-driven domains.
• Development experience with .NET and Azure.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of test automation practices (e.g., TDD).
• Ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term strategic solutions.
• Multi-disciplinary skills to support all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Proactive, delivery-focused mindset.
