The VacancyThe Social Media Executive role sits within Alzheimer's Research UK's Digital team. The primary purpose of the role is to build community and foster meaningful engagement with audiences on organic social media channels by championing our community engagement goals.


Other responsibilities include creating content that raises awareness of dementia and dementia research, supporting key campaigns, celebrating fundraising efforts, and sharing health information and research initiatives.


This role is well-suited to a candidate with strong organisational and communication skills, as you'll collaborate across teams to deliver content aligned with our social media strategy.


We're especially keen to hear from those with a passion for learning and embracing the latest digital technologies and trends--such as artificial intelligence--to improve workflows and drive efficiency.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



Content Creation & Management



Generate, edit, publish, and share content that builds meaningful connections with our audience, communicates key messages, and encourages engagement with our cause. Assist with managing the content calendar, scheduling posts, and importing assets to platforms. Identify and share third-party/user-generated content that aligns with Alzheimer's Research UK's brand messaging. Ensure all content and messaging meets brand and data guidelines, maintaining high professional standards.

Community Engagement



Monitor interactions across Alzheimer's Research UK's key social media channels, proactively engaging with supporters to ensure a positive experience. Work with internal teams before, during, and after key campaign moments to plan community management responses and review performance. Triage messages from the social media inbox to internal teams in an efficient manner, providing support and guidance where necessary. Attend Alzheimer's Research UK events to produce live content for social channels, bringing audiences along with you to drive interest and support. Communicate effectively and appropriately with various audiences, being mindful of complex or sensitive issues.

Reporting & Insights



Review and report on data from our social media management tool to evaluate performance and inform future content strategies. Monitor the latest social media trends and technologies to help maximise the organisation's presence across platforms. Share platform-specific suggestions to help teams improve their social media presence and key performance indicators (KPI's).

Internal engagement and collaboration



Work with internal teams to educate and inspire on the best use of our tone and language on social media. Support the Social Media team in engaging with other Alzheimer's Research UK employees by sharing best practices and post suggestions.

Compliance and Brand Standards



Ensure all activities comply with our brand and data guidelines and meet the high professional standards of Alzheimer's Research UK and represents the values of the organisation to the fullest. Champion the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role.

Learning and development



Stay informed about the latest advancement in digital marketing, social media, tools and technology. Actively seek opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge through the charities learning and development programme as well as external learning opportunities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:



Experience using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and LinkedIn for a charity or company. Experience planning and producing social media content. Experience of community management on social media. Experience reviewing social media metrics Excellent written communication and presentation skills. Ability to distil technical content into concise language suitable for various online audiences. An understanding and passion for emerging technologies and trends. Project and campaign planning. An approachable, enthusiastic, collaborative and can-do attitude. Someone who embraces digital life. Strong organisational skills, ability to multitask and prioritise. Ability to work across the charity and collaborate with different teams. Occasional out of hours (including weekend) support, usually around the launch of major initiatives, stories and campaigns.
