About Zubeda Welcome



Zubeda Welcome is a UK-registered Muslim charity supporting the Islamic educational needs of refugees and asylum seekers across the UK. Now in our 5th year, we focus on bridging the gap in access to madrasas and nurturing partnerships with like-minded organisations and communities.

We're looking for a

Social Media Intern

to help grow our online presence and amplify our impact. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the UK charity sector, working on real campaigns and connecting with a diverse audience.

Key Responsibilities



Plan, create, and schedule engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube Develop a content calendar highlighting key events, themes, and campaigns Support campaign planning (e.g. "The Zubeda Welcome Quran Student Live", Ramadan promotions, Refugee Week initiatives) Assist with basic media setup for online events (sound, video) Collaborate with team members to collect, create, and publish content Track and share updates using Google Workspace Attend a weekly 15-minute debrief with the CEO

What We're Looking For



A passion for charitable work and social impact Experience or interest in social media management and digital marketing Strong written communication and visual storytelling skills Comfortable with video/photo creation and editing Familiarity with tools like Canva, Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube, or other creative platforms Organised, proactive, and able to work independently Tech-savvy and adaptable Understanding and sensitivity towards refugee experiences Willingness to occasionally travel for on-site content creation (travel expenses covered) A DBS certificate is preferred (or willingness to obtain one)
