Wasserman is recruiting a Social Media Manager, Event Marketing to work across our pipeline of major events on a full-time basis within a 12-month fixed term role starting in November (or sooner), reporting to Wasserman's Senior Director, Event Marketing. We plan to make the role permanent once the pipeline delivers the necessary work which may be as soon as Q1 2026.



This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced social media professional to work within a growing team promoting exciting sporting and entertainment events. The chief responsibility of the role is to develop and deliver the social media strategy for various major sporting events we're working on, with the objective of driving awareness, engagement, and ticket sales.



The role sits within the Event Marketing team at Wasserman, who are responsible for delivering integrated campaigns across all channels. Social media is a critical part of that mix - both as a storytelling platform and as a performance driver for ticketing and hospitality sales.


Lead the development of the social media strategy and content calendar across our events across owned channels (Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube) Work with Wasserman's Creative team and external agencies to develop engaging, on-brand social content (video, graphics, photography, copy). Manage content production and approvals, ensuring all creative aligns with client brand guidelines and is delivered to the highest standard. Plan, brief, and manage paid social campaigns, with a focus on performance and ROI. Oversee day-to-day channel management including posting, scheduling, monitoring, community engagement, and customer response. Collaborate with clients, and other partners on joint social campaigns, cross-promotion, and content amplification. Work closely with ticketing and hospitality teams to integrate sales messaging, drive conversions, and track performance against targets. Monitor and report on campaign results, audience growth, and engagement metrics; recommend optimisations in real time. Stay across trends and best practice in social media, applying them to maximise reach and engagement. Support other events within Wasserman's pipeline as required.

The skills and experience you will need:



Proven experience managing and growing social media channels for high-profile events, brands, or rights-holders. Demonstrable success delivering social campaigns that drive both engagement and sales. Strong understanding of paid, owned, and earned marketing media and how to integrate them into wider marketing campaigns. Excellent copywriting, storytelling, and content creation skills, with a strong eye for detail. Experience working with creative teams, agencies, and multiple stakeholders. Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable improvements. Skilled at balancing multiple workstreams and deadlines. Proactive, creative thinker with a collaborative approach. Experience working in sport/entertainment is a plus. Proactive and able to work both as part of a team and independently Excellent communication skills - verbal and written with attention to detail Knowledge and understanding of international rugby is an advantage
