Job Summary


We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging social media strategies to enhance brand visibility and foster positive relationships with our audience. Key Responsibilities



Social Media Strategy & Management



Develop and implement social media strategies across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok, and others. Plan, schedule, and publish content that drives engagement, bookings, and brand awareness. Monitor trends and competitors to ensure the hotel's social media presence is innovative and relevant.

Content Creation & Branding



Create high-quality visuals, graphics, and copy for social media, email campaigns, and website features. Work with photography and videography teams to produce compelling content. Ensure all messaging aligns with brand guidelines, tone, and positioning.

Community Engagement & Guest Interaction



Respond to guest inquiries, comments, and reviews in a timely, professional, and engaging manner. Build and nurture an online community around the hotel's brand. Collaborate with Front Office and Reservations teams to leverage guest experiences for social content.

Campaigns & Promotions



Develop social media campaigns to promote rooms, special offers, events, and seasonal packages. Collaborate with the Marketing team to integrate campaigns across digital and offline channels. Track performance metrics and provide insights to improve campaign ROI.

Reporting & Analytics



Monitor and report on social media performance, including engagement, reach, follower growth, and conversions. Provide recommendations for content optimization, platform strategy, and digital marketing initiatives.

Team Collaboration & Training



Work closely with marketing, reservations, and operations teams to align social media content with business objectives. Support training and development of staff on social media best practices and hotel brand representation online.

Systems & Compliance



Maintain knowledge of social media management tools, analytics platforms, and content scheduling software. Ensure GDPR compliance and ethical handling of guest content and personal data.

Skills, Experience & Attributes



Essential:



Proven experience managing social media for hospitality or lifestyle brands. Strong knowledge of social media platforms, algorithms, and analytics. Excellent communication, copywriting, and visual content skills. Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.

Desirable:



Experience in the hotel or tourism sector. Familiarity with digital marketing campaigns, paid social advertising, and SEO. Local knowledge of Edinburgh and surrounding attractions.
