Overview

We are looking for a new Social Media volunteer to join our team at Oxfam Darlington Charity Shop!

We are one of the largest Oxfam shops in a busy town shopping centre. The shop sells all sorts, from children's clothes to jewellery and everything in between. We are looking for a social media volunteer to take on the role of creating attractive social media content to showcase our donated and new products, to promote Oxfam's work and encourage new volunteers, and to help to grow our followers and attract new customers to the store. We are particularly keen to expand into Tiktok reels, and are looking for someone to make this happen.

This voluntary role involves:

- Showcasing our new or donated products attractively;

- Creating varied content, which will include photography and short film;

- Spotting desirable and attractive items that would capture our followers eye;

- Following current Social Media trends.

The ideal candidate will:

- Have an interest in Social Media;

- Be able to work well independently and as part of the larger team;

- have good written communication skills;

- Have a good understanding and familiarity with how social media works;

- Have good attention to detail;

- Be available for a minimum of one 4 hour shift per week in store;

- Be able to spend some time each week planning and organizing posts ahead of schedule.

We can offer our volunteers valuable work experience in a retail environment, and the opportunity to directly contribute to Oxfam's mission to achieve a just world without poverty. We can provide references for our team, and we can provide travel costs in accordance with our expenses policy.
