Overview

We are an esteemed leader in the world of bespoke garden and landscape design and are seeking a large-site soft Landscaping Manager to join us to oversee and manage operations on a large site. The role involves planning, coordinating and executing landscape projects, supervising a diverse team and ensuring the highest quality of horticultural practices. This position requires extensive experience in landscaping and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilites

Project Management - planning and managing projects from inception to completion. Leading and managing a team of soft landscapers and labourers including apprentices, junior and senior plantsmen. Providing training, guidance and support to team members. Supervising planting trees, shrubs, flowers and other greenery according to design plans. Ensuring the proper care and maintenance of all plants including watering, weeding, pruning and feeding. Quality control - conduction regular site inspections to ensure the highest standards are maintained. Client and contractor liaison including meetings to discuss needs and preferences, providing expert advice and ensuring client satisfaction. Keeping detailed records of project progress and reporting to the Director and Senior Operations Manager on project status, budgets and any issues encountered.

Experience

GCSE's or equivalent, further education in horticulture, landscaping or a related field (preferred). Landscaping, gardening or horticulture with a proven track record in a managerial role. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Project management and organizational ability. Proficiency in using gardening tools and machinery. Strong physical stamina, ability to lift heavy objects. Attention to detail is key to this role. Excellent communication skills. Advance understand of landscaping principles and techniques.
