Key Responsibility Areas
  • Managing the Configuration Engineering activities in a professional manner delivering optimised solutions into IPT\'s to meet their requirements
  • Encouraging the use of industry good practise and provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to Engineering IPT\xe2\x80\x99s
  • Delivering the key elements of Configuration Management: Planning, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting and Configuration Audit / Verification.
  • Creating training for engineering in Software CM
  • Mentoring the CM team in all aspects of Software CM.
  • Providing support and guidance in generating Software CM Plans.
  • Provide guidance and support regarding Software use within the company PDM toolset.
  • Conduct configuration audits on Software projects
  • Support Software maturity and Stage of Involvement (SoI) reviews.
  • Support Administration task within Dimensions CM.
  • Managing the Engineering Change Process including
  • The processing of Change Requests within our PDM toolsets from initiation to final disposition and setting of POE\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • Determining change classification
  • Preparing agenda, calling and chairing the CRB (Business Review of change)
  • Carry out Change Implementation Planning and coordination into both the design and physical product.
  • Production of Configuration Baselines and Configuration Status Records.
  • Participation in FCA/FAVE

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

Essential
  • Excellent understanding of the five key elements of Configuration Management Planning, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting and Audit / Verification
  • Need to view themselves as a custodian of company data / records and not as an administrator
  • Be able to take a proactive approach to CM
  • Strong Administration Skills with an attention to detail - you are required to have a logical mind-set
  • Technical leadership & motivation of others \xe2\x80\x93 get most from people through effective leadership & empowerment.
  • Delegation \xe2\x80\x93 ability to effectively delegate tasks to appropriate people and provide required level of support. Regularly monitor progress to ensure successful delivery.
Desirable
  • Configuration Management experience in the development of Safety and Security critical products and experience of working on DO-178C projects.
  • Experience of Teamcenter Unified, Azure DevOps and Dimensions CM
  • Experience of platform level baseline control is desirable.
  • A good understanding of Configuration Management in accordance with DEF STAN 05-57.
