Henderson Wholesale IS Department currently employs over 45 Technical IT Specialists covering the areas of Software Development, Project Management, Network Infrastructure, and Application and Technical Support.

We are responsible for the software development and support of over 70 in-house and third-party systems which ensures the successful operation of our Wholesale business. As such we are looking to recruit an additional Software Tester as part of our in-house Software Development Team.

The successful candidate will be part of a large friendly fun IT Team, would be ideal for someone who is passionate about what they do, will thrive in a progressive environment.

As a Software Tester, the minimum criteria required for the role:

  • Analyse technical and business requirements for test purposes.
  • Design, develop and maintain manual test plans and test data.
  • Analyse new and updated functionality, preparing reusable test cases, data and expected results, allowing testing to be carried out to agreed standards.
  • Carry out regression testing when required.
  • Investigate and accurately record all issues/bugs found during testing.
  • Generate and review test documentation and provide progress reports.
  • Open to the potential of working with automated test tools in the future.
  • Liaise with third party application providers as necessary.
Core Technologies:

Our Technology stack is always growing and changing, but here\'s a selection of what we currently use in some of our applications:
  • Progress Open Edge, JavaScript, MS SQL Server, Web APIs, Serverless Lambdas, Spring boot, AWS, Azure, Git, Linux, Node JS, QlikView, QlikSense.
Skills for Success

Joining us as Software Tester, the minimum criteria you\'ll need is:
  • At least 2 years\' experience in a software testing role
  • Relevant experience in manual functional testing
  • Experience of creating test plans, test cases and test data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of QA processes and the SDLC.
  • Proven business analysis experience
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and reliable
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise your own workload and adhere to deadlines.
The attributes you\'ll need include:
  • Efficient: set and follow priorities, manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Excellent proof reading with great attention to detail
  • Good communicator with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Resilient and able to deal with challenges/ objections confidently
  • Driven, resilient and show courage within your decisions.
  • Quick learner, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Willingness to learn new skills and develop within the role.
It\'s not mandatory, but it would be advantageous if you also have:
  • A third level qualification in a relevant Computing or Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Software testing qualification
  • Experience of Test Automation Tools

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid working arrangement available.
