We are looking for a motivated Solar energy Engineer to join our team at Golden Globe Merchants Ltd. In this role, you will support the design, development, and implementation of solar energy systems. You will collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to analyze project requirements, assist in system design, and contribute to the successful execution of solar projects.
Role Overview:
The
Solar Energy Engineer
designs, develops, and manages solar energy systems for both residential and commercial and large-scale projects. They will play a critical role in advancing renewable energy adoption, optimizing energy efficiency, and minimizing environmental impact. This position requires a mix of technical expertise, innovative problem-solving, and a commitment to sustainable energy solutions. The Solar Energy Engineer work closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing and developing solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, for various applications such as utility-scale, commercial, and residential, Conduct site assessments to evaluate factors such as solar irradiance, shading, and system orientation to ensure the feasibility of solar installations, Develop detailed technical specifications and layouts, including module selection, inverter sizing, and array configuration, Oversee the installation and commissioning processes to ensure project specifications are met and the systems operate efficiently, Conduct system performance analysis and troubleshoot technical issues to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of solar energy systems, Ensure compliance with local and international standards, codes, and regulations governing solar energy projects, Participate in field inspections and testing of solar systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards, Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to solar energy.
Qualifications for an energy engineer in solar panel projects typically include:
A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
A master's degree or specific solar engineering certifications (e.g., NABCEP, SEI) are advantageous.
Minimum 2 years in solar PV design and engineering, with proven experience in commercial or utility-scale solar projects.
Professional engineering (PE) license, NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification, or similar credentials are highly desirable.
Preferred:
Familiarity with solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope)
Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes and regulations related to solar energy
Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
Understanding of electrical circuits and principles related to photovoltaic systems
Familiarity with energy modeling and simulation software
Basic knowledge of battery storage systems and their integration with solar technology
