About the role and team
Join our Commercial Property Litigation team, a dynamic group working across specialist sectors to deliver expert advice and representation in complex property disputes. This role offers exposure to a wide range of litigation matters, from court proceedings to arbitrations and expert determinations. You'll collaborate with senior team members on high-value cases while managing your own lower-value claims, gaining experience in specialist court divisions such as The Business and Property Courts.
Key Responsibilities
Advise on and manage commercial property litigation matters across the full process
Assist senior fee earners with high-value and complex disputes
Handle lower-value claims independently
Engage in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation
Contribute to business development initiatives, seminars, and client presentations
Work on cases involving: Court Proceedings, Arbitrations and Expert Determinations
About the candidate
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about commercial property litigation and eager to develop their expertise within a supportive team environment. You will have a solid foundation in litigation processes and a proactive approach to client service.
You should have:
Recently qualified to 2 years' PQE
Strong experience gained during a training contract and post-qualification in commercial property litigation
Excellent communication and analytical skills
A proactive approach and willingness to assist with business development
Familiarity with:
+ The Court process
+ Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
+ Alternative dispute resolution methods
Exposure to:
+ Commercial landlord and tenant disputes (e.g., lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, break notices, dilapidations, possession claims, rent arrears recovery, forfeiture)
+ Adverse possession claims
+ Development and option agreement disputes
+ Easement and restrictive covenant disputes
