Job Description

Join a Legal 500 Band 1 Construction & Engineering team, part of a wider Real Estate department, and play a key role in high-value disputes and complex projects across sectors such as logistics, education, and manufacturing. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer to broaden their skillset within a supportive, collaborative, and award-winning firm.

Key Responsibilities

Advise on a range of contentious and non-contentious construction matters Represent clients in adjudication, arbitration, litigation (TCC), and dispute resolution proceedings Provide early-stage, commercial, and practical advice on distressed projects and risk mitigation Lead on drafting and negotiating construction contracts (JCT, NEC, bespoke forms) and ancillary agreements Act for a broad client base including employers, main contractors, sub-contractors, and construction professionals Contribute to business development and client relationship initiatives Support and participate in client-focused activities such as case law workshops and sector events Benefit from paralegal and knowledge lawyer support, as well as access to industry-leading online legal resources
About You

Strong credentials and a passion for high-quality legal work Contentious experience (adjudication, arbitration, TCC litigation) and/or non-contentious expertise (transactional support, contract drafting) Proven ability to advise on payment disputes, professional negligence, delays, and defective works claims Experience gained from a major City, national, or regional law firm Genuine interest in the construction and engineering sectors Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach Strong academic record
