We specialise in housing litigation, we fight for tenants living in sub-standard accommodation and are experiencing issues like damp, mould, or structural problems in rental properties due to a landlord's failure to repair. We want to bring landlords to account, and client care is at the heart of everything we do. Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of housing disrepair claims, handling pre and post litigated claims on behalf of tenants
Issuing court proceedings in housing disrepair matters
Comply with Pre-Action-Protocol for Housing Disrepair Claims
Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, such as Landlord and Tenant Act
Support Junior staff- having a 'open door' approach in supporting the team- in line with the firm's supervision policy
Weekly file reviews, covering compliance checks- in line with the firms file review policy
Use Proclaim (claims management software) competently and effectively, ensuring that the business process and policy is adhered to
Liaising in a courteous and professional manner to build positive and professional relationships across the business
Play a key role to enhance client service, efficiencies and ensuring the smooth running of the overall team
Carry out other duties, as and when required, to assist in the smooth running of the business
Essential Skills and experience
Fully qualified solicitor
Previous housing disrepair experience is essential
Target driven whilst always maintaining exceptional client care
Confident when working to targets
Demonstrate experience of being able to work at pace, with ability to manage competing priorities within own caseload
Experience of litigating own matters
Excellent organisational skills and a committed attitude
Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
Excellent telephone manner and communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and accurately
Excellent knowledge of CPR and Housing Conditions case law
Effective time management skills
Experience in using Proclaim to be able to handle volume litigation
Ability to work efficiently and effectively, as part of a team
Using own initiative
IT literate
