Transforming Justice Sector Tenders into Wins

Location: Remote (Home-Based)

Salary: 42,500 - 43,775 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week)

About G4S Care & Rehabilitation Services (CaRS)

G4S CaRS is committed to the rehabilitation of offenders across our secure training centre, four prisons, and various community contracts in England and Wales. Our core philosophy is to equip service users with the skills needed for successful societal re-integration, fostering a safe environment for both our staff and those in our care.

The Role: Solution Architect

The Business Development Team at CaRS plays a crucial part in our continued success, securing complex, high-value government contracts. As a Solution Architect, you will be pivotal in this process, ensuring our bids are not just compliant, but compelling and persuasive.

You will be the bridge between technical operational detail and clear, powerful narrative. Your work will directly influence major contract awards within the justice sector.

Reporting to the Senior Proposals Manager, you will work collaboratively across the Business Development Team, with senior leadership, and with regional operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Bid Content Strategy & Development

Narrative Ownership: Support the development of high-scoring responses for complex tenders, turning intricate operational information into benefit-led, persuasive prose. Response Drafting: Draft initial, high-quality content for non-technical and corporate standard sections (e.g., Company History, Governance, Training). "Golden Thread" Storyboarding: Actively contribute to storyboarding sessions, ensuring a clear, consistent link between client requirements and CaRS' unique, winning solutions. Quality Control: Guarantee all written submissions align with G4S brand guidelines and the precise tone of voice required for Ministry of Justice (MoJ) submissions. Continuous Improvement: Integrate and address feedback from previous MoJ bids to enhance future submissions.

2. Compliance, Editing & Production

Editorial Excellence: Conduct meticulous proofreading to eradicate grammatical errors, inconsistencies, and typos, ensuring a polished final product. Visual Professionalisation: Maintain strict adherence to MoJ standards by managing the professional formatting of documents (fonts, margins, tables). Compliance Assurance: Assist in rigorous cross-referencing of final drafts against the Invitation to Submit Final Tender (ISFT) requirements. Document Management: Implement robust version control and manage document folders efficiently to ensure team-wide alignment on the latest draft.

3. Knowledge Management & Research

Evidence Library: Systematically catalogue critical "proof points" (e.g., audit scores, HMIP reports, success metrics) to form a robust, accessible bid library. Proposal Research: Conduct targeted research into the Authority, market trends, and competitor strategies. Case Study Development: Support the creation of powerful case studies that effectively showcase G4S's proven capabilities.

About You

The successful candidate will be a highly resilient, confident, and tenacious individual with a demonstrable 'can-do' attitude and exceptional attention to detail.

Essential Experience & Attributes:

Sector Expertise: Operational knowledge and experience within custodial facilities (prisons, STCs). Procurement Acumen: A strong understanding of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) or equivalent government procurement and tendering processes. Translational Skill: Proven ability to transform complex, technical jargon into compelling, accurate, and high-scoring narrative. Drive & Organisation: Ability to thrive under pressure, meet stringent deadlines, and manage a prioritised workload with the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, initiative, and adaptability to constantly evolving scenarios. Technical Proficiency: Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Packages, Google Workspace, and Bid Management Software.
