Role Overview
We're looking for a Sales Engineer who can bridge the gap between technical product knowledge and the client's business needs. You will partner closely with Account Executives to articulate the value of our Asset Management & Repairs Solutions to prospective and existing clients--showing how MRI can streamline financial operations, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making in the social housing sector.  
This is a pre-sales role where you'll be the trusted technical advisor and solution champion, influencing decisions by demonstrating the value and fit of our finance products.We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role is based in one of the UK offices (London or Sleaford).  
Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand a client's financial workflows, compliance needs, and operational challenges. Map these to MRI's Asset Management and Repairs Solution capabilities.
Deliver high-impact, tailored software demos and presentations that communicate both functional depth and business value.
Articulate the tangible benefits of MRI's Asset Management & Repairs Solutions to all stakeholders--from finance users to executive leadership.
Collaborate on RFPs and tenders, provide technical insight, and lead proof-of-concept efforts when needed.
Work with Product Management and Professional Services to influence roadmap priorities and ensure solutions meet market demands.
Equip sales colleagues with product knowledge, competitive positioning, and insights to help close deals.
Required Skills & ExperienceProven experience in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or similar technical client-facing role--preferably with Asset Management & Repairs software.
Solid understanding of finance operations, reporting, and compliance requirements in a UK social housing context.
Outstanding presentation and storytelling skills, capable of communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to demonstrate complex solutions in a simple, client-centric way that resonates with finance professionals.
Strong problem-solving ability and commercial awareness to align solutions with client goals.
Comfortable responding to detailed questions on-the-fly and managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
Knowledge of system integration concepts and financial software architecture is a plus.
Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.
Understanding of UK finance regulations (e.g., VAT, audit requirements, financial reporting standards).
Familiarity with software platforms like MRI, Oracle, SAP, or other ERP/finance systems.
