As an IT Solutions Architect, you\'ll enjoy a high profile role and be a key member of a highly skilled and dedicated team that underpins and supports business-wide change by transforming requirements into innovative IT solutions. Based at our offices in Oldbury you will report to a Solution Architect Manager.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Contribute to and maintain the common architectural repository and relevant architectural artefacts producing documentation of a high quality to enable decisions and drive delivery. Ensuring all decision points, building blocks, design principles, design rationale, roadmaps and all interdependencies are understood, documented and communicated, where appropriate.
  • Working with the relevant IT Teams, Product Owners, Solution Managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate the technical delivery of projects.
  • Have responsibility for understanding and documenting solutions.
  • Assess and communicate the business impact of technical options selected.
  • Producing high and low level architectural designs with the ability to be able to explain designs to both non-technical and technical teams
Qualifications

As the successful candidate you will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant computer science degree. Experience in a Software Development environment is essential.

Job Requirements

We would expect you to:
  • Have previous experience as a Solutions Architect/Software Engineer or a similar role in software development with a good understanding of software / project lifecycle and methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • A good understanding of application integration techniques and patterns.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Have knowledge/understanding of application security best practices and industry standards.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for technology and problem solving through technical solutions.
Be able to work with wider teams and end users.

Desirable:
  • Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (preferably GCP).
  • Previous experience as a Full Stack software developer/engineer would be advantageous.
  • A good understanding of database design, implementation, and optimisation.
  • A degree level or equivalent in a relevant computer science degree.
