We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of our restaurant. Your expertise in food preparation and production will contribute to creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You will also be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a well-organised kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Ensure that all dishes are prepared in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during peak times.
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Proficient in food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
