Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef by overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene. This is a live in position with the hourly rate reflecting this



Duties



Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing diverse menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations. Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, ensuring efficient teamwork. Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes and portion sizes. Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene standards, storage procedures, and cleanliness to comply with health regulations. Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen operations. Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with company standards and customer specifications. Support training programmes for new staff members and provide ongoing coaching to enhance team skills. Maintain a positive working environment that promotes professionalism and high morale among team members.

Requirements



Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment. Extensive experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential; experience in a similar role is highly desirable. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure in a busy setting. Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management. A passion for culinary arts with a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 14.00 per hour
