Job Overview


We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with the ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. BAKING EXPERIENCE WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS

Responsibilities



Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and teamwork. Manage food production schedules to maintain inventory levels and minimise waste. Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety practices, and operational procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained. Assist in ordering supplies and managing stock levels to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Skills



Proven experience in supervising a kitchen team, demonstrating effective leadership abilities. Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques. Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff in a busy environment. Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Previous experience in a restaurant setting is highly desirable. Culinary experience with a passion for hospitality and creating exceptional dining experiences. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
