Job Description

A Spa Receptionist position has become available at The Cliff Hotel & Spa. The Spa and its facilities are consistently in high demand from both hotel guests and external clients booking treatments, spa days, and wellness packages.

Key responsibilities include handling spa bookings via telephone, email, and in person; maintaining Health & Safety standards and the hygiene of pool and spa facilities; welcoming guests and ensuring the smooth running of their visits; and identifying opportunities to promote spa services and products. The Spa Receptionist will also assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment to ensure guests enjoy a relaxing and memorable experience.

An interest in health and beauty treatments would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided to enable the successful candidate to respond effectively to enquiries. Training will also cover the electronic booking system and all other aspects of the role.

For full-time positions, the role involves working 32-40 hours per week over 4-5 days (Monday to Sunday), including a combination of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts as scheduled by the Spa Manager.

Due to the time of year, availability and flexibility over the Christmas and New Year period will be a key requirement for success in this role. The Cliff Hotel & Spa operates throughout the festive season, and team members are expected to support business needs during this busy period.

Previous experience in a similar customer service or spa-based role is desirable. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have a positive and professional attitude, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Access to reliable transport is advantageous due to limited public transport links.

The hourly rate for this position starts at 12.35 per hour for applicants aged 21 and over, which is above the current National Minimum and National Living Wage rates. Applicants under 21 may receive a lower rate in accordance with statutory guidelines.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable. Self-motivation and the ability to work well as part of a team is essential. Access to transport would also be advantageous.
