LS-TEN is a charity based in Hunslet in Leeds, delivering youth work, education and sport. This role is based within our onsite independent school.
We are currently recruiting for a Tutor role to provide quality delivery in core subjects along with supporting in enrichment activities.
Our Education provision is a DfE registered Independent School working with KS3 & 4 students who have a variety of needs and will potentially be re-engaging back into a mainstream education setting.
We want to hear from applicants who want to work in a small alternative school setting and enjoy being part of an active education team.
A will be sent out with the application pack which will provide additional information. As a brief overview the role will include;
Building positive relationships with young people.
Supporting positive behaviour.
Assisting with the delivery of academic sessions.
Supporting the Pastoral and Nurture Leads.
Assisting with attendance duties.
Lead on small group projects including a range of practical tasks such as Sports, Cooking, Building, and PSHE sessions.
Support during any offsite visits.
To safeguard children and vulnerable adults from harm and to report concerns in accordance with LS-TEN's safeguarding policies and procedures.
To foster good relationships and advance equality of opportunity between different groups and eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
Expectation:
Experience of working with students with SEND / SEMH needs
Ability to work in a team
Team teach trained (desirable)
DSL trained (desirable)
Education staff are contracted to 37.5 hours a week over 47.6 weeks a year with whole department shut down during school holiday periods with exception of 15 training and preparation days a year.
