Job Description

The Respiratory Early Diagnostic Service (REDS) is looking to appoint a Specialist Nurse to support patients referred to Oxford University Hospitals for investigations for suspected lung cancer.

The Respiratory Early Diagnostic Service (REDS) provides a faster diagnostic pathway and improves outcomes for patients with respiratory cancer. The service is constantly evolving to improve as we work to implement the National Optimal Lung Cancer Pathway. Delivery of this service standard involves the coordination of an initial clinical review and nursing assessment, CT scan and lung function test which takes place in our clinic at the Oxford Community Diagnostic Centre in Cowley.

REDS is looking for an experienced and motivated nurse who is interested in developing their skills and taking on a new challenge. Experience in respiratory medicine and or cancer care would be an advantage but a comprehensive and tailored induction programme will be provided for the successful applicant.

The working hours for this post are Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.

The working day is currently split between the office at the Churchill in the mornings and the Oxford Community Diagnostic Centre in Cowley in the afternoons where the REDS clinic is held.
