. Due to significant behavioural challenges, including volatility, self-injurious behaviour, and aggressive outbursts, the student is currently unable to access a traditional school environment.
To support this young person safely and meaningfully, we are implementing an
outward-facing curriculum
focused on community-based activities, movement, and structured routines in familiar outdoor spaces. Each day will begin and end with a home visit, and two staff members will support him at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Work 1:1 with the student in off-site settings
Engage in active, community-based activities
Support emotional regulation, de-escalate incidents, and manage crisis behaviour
Provide consistent routines, reassurance, and structure throughout the day
Ensure student and staff safety at all times, following safeguarding and behaviour protocols
Work closely with existing staff, parents/carers, and external professionals
Participate in daily travel (using school minibus) to and from the student's home
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience working with students with complex needs and challenging behaviours
Strong presence and ability to manage physically and emotionally demanding situations
High level of patience, empathy, and emotional resilience
Able to work calmly and consistently in unpredictable environments
Comfortable working outdoors and being physically active throughout the day
Preferably an active candidate
Desirable:
Training in
