Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor who wishes to pursue Specialist Registration through the Portfolio Pathway.



Career Pathway Post between Intensive Case Management in Psychosis team at Carlton Parade CMHT



Centre and Inpatient Psychiatry at Green Parks House (Norman and Betts ward). Complimentary rotation between 2 postholders, one in each location.



The following will be offered to support Specialist Doctors gain essential experience:



Broad clinical experience through rotation between community and acute settings Assistance to get a short or long psychotherapy case allocated with supervision. Named SAS tutor for further CPD support. Named clinical supervisor Future opportunity to be trained as an appraiser Opportunities to pursue a broad range of portfolio activities, including medical education or service development Access to an established SAS peer group and CPD programme No scheduled on-calls, but opportunities are available should the doctor wish to participate. Annual study leave budget for further training, which may be used to complete MRCPsych exams or S12 approval if applicable. The successful candidate will participate in leading and delivering the ICMP team clinical care as part of a multidisciplinary team. The SAS doctor and Consultant contribute to the risk assessment, formulation and care planning for the caseload which is shared across the whole MDT. This will include running 3 routine and 1 emergency outpatient clinics a week, which may include home visits and emergency contacts as required.

One day will be agile working (staff member is based from home).



The successful candidate will be required to maintain an excellent standard of communication, including participation in the clinical team meeting, producing clinic letters and RIO documentation. Implementation of the NICE HTAs & Guidelines for schizophrenia, BPAD, comorbid PDs, Psychosis with substance misuse with focus on user self-management.

Implementation of new standardised assessments, reflecting our patient's complexity including, AUDIT, SADQ and neurocognitive impairment assessments.

This rotational post is ideally suited to a Specialty doctor wishing to pursue the Portfolio pathway to Specialist registration. The Royal College of Psychiatrists have stated two eligibility criteria for Portfolio Pathway applicants:



1. Training completed outside of the UK - completion of minimum 6 months continuous specialist training programme or a relevant qualification outside the UK, (eg. MRCPsych equivalent) where you can provide an authenticated copy of the formal curriculum or syllabus (including assessment methods) that was in place when you undertook your training. (or letter from the awarding body outlining the content of the training programme or examination). Evidence of formal periodic assessment during your training would also need to be provided.



OR



2. Training completed In the UK - completion of minimum of 6 months continuous approved specialty training in psychiatry, where you can provide a copy of your signed off ARCPs for the completed time of your training.
