What You'll Be Doing
Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups to develop their expressive and receptive language
Using PECS, Makaton, and visual resources to promote understanding and independence
Encouraging positive social interaction and emotional regulation through clear, consistent routines
Implementing strategies recommended by Speech and Language Therapists and teaching staff
Fostering a warm, trusting atmosphere that helps pupils grow in confidence and communication
Who You Are
This role would suit:
Psychology, Education or Speech & Language graduates
Experienced Teaching Assistants or Support Workers with SEND experience
Parents, carers or individuals with lived experience of communication needs
Those exploring a future in speech therapy, SEN teaching or child development
You'll Need:
A calm, patient and encouraging approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine interest in how children communicate and learn
A belief in inclusive, child-centred education

If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
