The successful candidate will be responsible for operating woodworking machinery--specifically the spindle moulder with occasional use of the panel saw--to accurately cut, shape, and mould wood components according to design specifications. The role requires high attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate spindle moulder and panel saw machines with precision and care
Set up machines according to production specifications and drawings
Select, install, and adjust tooling and cutting blades as required
Ensure accurate cutting, moulding, and profiling of timber components
Inspect raw materials and finished products for defects or inconsistencies
Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on machines
Read and interpret technical drawings and job specifications
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Comply with health and safety regulations at all times
Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production targets
Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience operating spindle moulder and panel saw machinery (minimum 2 years preferred)
Strong understanding of woodworking processes and techniques
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists
Familiarity with safe machine operation practices
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Carpentry, Joinery, or Wood Machining (preferred)
Forklift licence or manual handling training is an advantage
