Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and creative Sponsorship Manager to join our team on a voluntary basis. This role is essential to securing sponsorship and partnership opportunities that will support the growth and sustainability of the club. The Sponsorship Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying, approaching, and managing relationships with local businesses and partners to generate essential funding and resources for our teams. This is an ideal role for someone with experience or interest in marketing, sales, or fundraising who is passionate about making a positive impact in community sports.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify Sponsorship Opportunities:
Research and identify local businesses and organizations that align with our club's values and could benefit from partnering with Leicester United FC.
Develop Sponsorship Packages:
Create tailored sponsorship packages and proposals that showcase the benefits of supporting the club, highlighting the exposure and community involvement the sponsorship would provide.
Establish and Maintain Relationships:
Reach out to potential sponsors, engage with existing supporters, and develop long-term relationships that foster a mutually beneficial partnership.
Manage Sponsorship Agreements:
Oversee sponsor agreements, ensuring that all commitments are met, including brand visibility, event invitations, and any promotional or marketing deliverables.
Promote Sponsor Partnerships:
Work with the club's social media and marketing team to showcase sponsor contributions, ensuring they receive recognition on our digital channels, newsletters, and at events.
Attend Events and Meetings:
Represent the club at local business events, meetings, and networking opportunities to promote sponsorship potential and build community connections.
Reporting and Documentation:
Track all sponsorships, contributions, and engagement efforts, and provide regular updates to the club's board on the status of sponsorship goals and initiatives.
Person Specification:
Experience in sales, marketing, business development, or fundraising is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and develop meaningful relationships.
Knowledge of sponsorship processes, contracts, and how to communicate effectively with business audiences.
Basic understanding of social media and digital marketing (preferred but not essential).
Personal Attributes:
Enthusiastic and motivated, with a passion for community sports and supporting youth development.
Organized and able to manage multiple sponsorship relationships and deadlines.
Creative and innovative, with the ability to develop attractive sponsorship packages.
Willingness to attend club events and maintain a visible presence within the club community.
