Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Coach to join our team. As a Coach, you will be responsible for providing sports coaching and education to athletes between the ages of 1 to 10 years old. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the development and success of our athletes.
Duties:
- Provide instruction and guidance during practice sessions and competitions
- Lead, motivate and engage children to reach their full potential
- Foster a positive and supportive team environment
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and other coaches
- Ensure the safety of all participants during training sessions and competitions
- To welcome and acknowledge all participants upon arrival of each class with enthusiasm
- Maintain the attendance register and maintain the administration of non-payers etc. informing the head office of any anomalies
- Maintain authority over the class in a clear and concise manner and promptly address any disruptive behaviour by following our procedures.
- Ensure classes commence and finish on time
- Work through the Mini Athletics program to teach the basic core athletic development skills in a fun and structured environment using equipment and apparatus provided
- Following the lesson plans provided by Mini Athletics Newcastle
- Encouraging team spirit and patience amongst the team by doing appropriate games and tasks in groups and individually
Experience:
- Previous experience working with Children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes
- Patience and understanding when working with individuals of different skill levels
- Organizational skills to plan and manage training sessions effectively
