to join our friendly and supportive primary school team. This role involves supporting two pupils in Year 5, including one child with
complex SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and ADHD.
The successful candidate will be someone who can
build a strong, positive relationship
with pupils and
provide flexible support
both in and outside the classroom. This child doesn't always need constant in-class support but benefits from someone who understands when he needs a break and can help him regulate, refocus and return to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH and ADHD.
Build positive relationships through sport, play, and encouragement.
Support children both in lessons and during structured "time-out" sessions when needed.
Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement effective strategies.
Help children develop emotional regulation, confidence, and resilience.
Lead or assist with physical activities and sports to promote wellbeing.
About You:
Experience working with children, ideally within a school or sports environment.
Understanding of SEMH and ADHD support strategies.
Calm, approachable, and laid-back - able to stay positive under pressure.
Enjoys being active and using sport to engage and motivate pupils.
Sports coaching qualification (Level 1 or above) desirable but not essential.
A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
