As a Sports Mentor you will be working alongside the Tutor working with small groups, supporting both classroom and practical sports sessions at our onsite facilities; guiding learners in working towards a Level 1 Vocational Sports Qualification. In addition, you will be supporting learners to improve their attendance, punctuality and other core skills with an emphasis on social skills.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
To support the delivery of daily activities to promote and enhance learner knowledge.
Implement positive behavioural strategies.
Deliver practical sessions (including sports and gym based sessions)
Support learners to realise their academic potential.
Supporting pupils within a mentoring capacity both in and out of the classroom environment
You'll take an active role in prompting and guiding discussions.
Qualification/Experience
Proven experience in sports coaching or mentoring is highly desirable.
Teaching qualification (equivalent to PTTLS certification) or relevant experience
Sports Coaching Experience
Experience working with challenging behaviour.
Two years' experience working with young people within a sport, education, or youth work setting.
Gym Instructor Qualification (desirable not essential)
