to join our family run business. The role will be based at our Head Office in Lochgelly, with work being carried out in Dundee, Perth and the surrounding areas.

EAS specialise in procurement, design, management and execution of all works associated with High and Low voltage underground electricity networks on behalf of major framework contractors and Distribution Network Operators (DNO's).
We have over 40 years combined experience specific to our services offered such as HV/LV cable jointing and terminating, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, 24 hours emergency call out, project management and more. Our purpose is to positively contribute to the electrical industry- providing value to our clients, customer and our people.
Purpose
As an
SSE Cable Jointer
, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation, jointing, maintenance, and repair of low-voltage (LV) power cables and associated electrical infrastructure. Your role supports the reliable delivery of electricity across the SSE network, including work on new connections, asset upgrades, and fault resolution. You will operate in varied environments and conditions, upholding strict health, safety, and environmental standards.
Overview of main duties and responsibilities
Jointing and terminating LV electrical cables
Link box replacements
Substation component replacements and upgrades
Installation of new customer connections on both DNO and IDNO networks
LV de-looping works
Cable head modernization
Fault location and repair
Liaising with engineers, supervisors, and other stakeholders
Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach
Any other duties as reasonably required
What you'll bring
As an
SSE Cable Jointer
, you will play a key role in delivering value to the company by applying your technical expertise to safely and accurately carry out jointing, termination, and repair of LV power cables and related infrastructure. You will bring a strong understanding of health and safety practices, ensuring all work complies with regulatory standards and company procedures.
Your ability to work efficiently and independently, while maintaining high levels of workmanship and attention to detail, will be essential in supporting critical projects such as new connections, link box and substation replacements, de-looping works, and cable head modernisation. You will be a reliable team player, able to communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth project execution.
