Heb Cleaning & Hygiene is looking for a proactive and physically fit Cleaning Supervisor / Assistant Manager to support our stadium operations team in Sheffield. This is a key role for someone with strong leadership skills, a calm head under pressure, and the confidence to manage large teams across a fast-paced, high-profile venue. You'll lead by example, ensuring every public-facing area is clean, compliant, and ready for use, before, during, and after match days or major events. You'll need to be flexible, mobile, and able to climb stairs and walk long distances as part of your day-to-day work.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, site-based role where you'll be responsible for overseeing the cleanliness of stadium concourses, the bowl, entrances, and surrounding areas. You'll be expected to lead a team of cleaning operatives, assign tasks, and ensure everything is completed to the highest standards, often within tight timeframes.
You'll be trusted to manage team morale, plan shift coverage, and maintain service levels across fluctuating demand. From preparing matchday deep cleans to responding to real-time issues, this role requires excellent coordination, time management, and a proactive mindset. You'll also liaise with managers, security, and other site teams to make sure everything runs smoothly during major events.
You'll work 20 hours a week over 5 days, but shift patterns will vary. Early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and bank holidays are all part of the rota, especially around event days. You'll need to be flexible and available when it matters most, bringing structure, stability, and leadership to your team every shift.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and maintain cleaning across concourses, stadium bowl, and surrounding areas
Lead by example, carrying out regular cleaning duties when needed
Allocate daily tasks and monitor team morale, performance, and timekeeping
Prepare staff rotas and arrange cover for holidays or sickness
Coordinate large cleaning teams for match days, events, and post-event clean-downs
Communicate effectively with your manager, site contacts, and wider team
Ensure all cleaning work complies with health and safety and COSHH standards
Report any incidents, equipment faults, or staffing issues in a timely and professional manner
