This is a temporary contract position for 12 months.

UK Payroll Department

The payroll department manages payroll across a multitude of departments including administrative and operational roles where work patterns and manpower vary regularly to support the business driving regular changes and updates to monthly fixed and variable pay. Post pandemic, we are expanding United\xe2\x80\x99s operational flight services to the UK and London in particular, driving significant increased hirings on the operational side of the business. To support this, we are expanding our payroll team.

This is not an entry level role. You will already need to have had experience working in a fast paced and busy payroll team and be proficient in MS office systems, with a detailed knowledge of Excel spreadsheet modelling including functions such as vlookups.

Ideally you will also be proficient in the use of ADP payroll software applications, specific knowledge of ADP iHCM software will be advantageous. If you wish to grow your career as we grow our airline, then this is the job for you.

The payroll team operate a hybrid working arrangement. This is a full-time position.

Job overview and responsibilities

Accurately assist in the maintenance and processing of the monthly payroll for employees, ensuring proper internal controls, compliance to local government/ company policies & requirements are met. Ensure knowledge of current statutory government procedures are followed for the country. Local understanding of the law is imperative for the success of this position. You will also work with business partners to ensure compliance with the Company\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedures

This includes, but is not limited to,

  • Work towards maintaining a monthly payroll for approximately 750+ employees, working closely with all department managers to receive accurate variable monthly data for input and, where needed, submission to payroll provider.
  • Ensure all approved changes received from HR/HR systems are processed and submitted to payroll provider in a timely manner for New Hires, Leavers and all other changes.
  • Processing Employee Trip and Buddy Pass payroll deductions as appropriate and debt recovery when needed.
  • Provide monthly and annual government tax data and payments accurately and on time according to government tax deadlines.
  • Compilation of pension and other statutory payments, ensuring these are processed accordingly to required timelines.
  • Provide support to employees for payroll and tax enquiries and maintain payroll files for local and ex-pat employees.
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Qualifications

Required
  • Detailed Excel knowledge
  • Experience of using ADP software, ideally ADP iHCM
  • Experience working in a similar role
  • Good communicator able to develop business relationships at all levels
  • Good analytical skills and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English and local language (written and oral)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the UK for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview, including proficiency test, required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
