Overview

We are seeking a skilled Steel Erector to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of structural steel and fabrication, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. As a Steel Erector, you will be responsible for assembling various metal structures, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Assemble and erect structural steel frameworks for buildings and other structures. Fabricate metal components according to specifications using hand tools and power tools. Perform welding tasks including stick welding. Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Collaborate with other tradespeople to coordinate tasks on-site. Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following health and safety protocols. Use basic maths skills to read blueprints and calculate measurements accurately.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Excellent physical stamina and strength, capable of lifting heavy materials. Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship. A valid health and safety certification is advantageous but not essential.
