Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Steel Erector to oversee and manage a small team of site fitters on projects across the UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural and architectural steel erection and project supervision. This role requires excellent leadership skills to manage teams effectively and ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Erection of architectural and structural steel according to specifications Good understanding of engineering drawings for installation Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various tasks Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with standards Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on time Supervise daily installation tasks Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to facilitate communication Certified and confident to operate plant and machinery

Qualifications

Proven experience in project management with a focus on supervising teams on-site Strong knowledge of steel erection processes, including quality control Experience reading general arrangement and technical drawings Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively
A CSCS Card is required for this role, training will be provided if the candidate does not hold a current accreditation.

SSSTS is desirable for this role, although training may be provided if the candidate does not hold a current accreditation.

A full UK driving license is required.

This role does include travelling for work, with overnight accommodation provided by the company.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 16.50-22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
