to join our new team for a 12 month FTC. This role sits within the Change and Planning directorate which was established in 2024. The Directorate works in partnership with stakeholders across the bank to deliver the bank's strategic priorities through effective strategic planning and prioritisation, portfolio planning and assurance, and the successful delivery of change initiatives.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager - Performance and Evaluation, leadership, and cross-functional teams, to develop and implement a consistent cross-organisational approach to performance and evaluation that supports the organisation in robustly measuring what it is achieving and supports the Bank in optimal uses of resources and evidencing delivery of value for money. You will have excellent management and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach, strong analytical skills and a passion for problem-solving, alongside the ability to think critically and creatively about business challenges. You will be instrumental in identifying opportunities and informing and supporting strategic decision-making at all levels of the organisation.
You will be accountable for a range of activities including:
Performance and Evaluation
: Working with the organisation and the Senior Manager - Performance and Evaluation, to develop, educate, support, and evolve the development of a consistent cross-organisational approach and framework to performance and evaluation that ensures optimal uses of resources and delivery of value for money.
Leadership and Management:
you will be part of the senior team in Strategic Planning, building a high-performing team which operates in a supportive and collaborative manner
Communication and Engagement:
Develop the plan to educate the Bank on the Performance and Evaluation framework and specifically their role within it while ensuring maximum engagement;
building and managing a stakeholder map
to ensure all stakeholder needs are considered and supported, ensuring feedback is taken on board and that the framework embeds in all lines of business.
Cross-organisational consistency:
Work with other areas of the Bank to ensure that all terminology and performance management frameworks (i.e. People) are aligned to allow staff to understand the connection between the Bank's strategic outcomes and their individual objectives.
Strategic Planning & Analysis:
understand emerging trends to inform potential development opportunities and risks facing the Bank, and use these to inform work. Analyse financial and operational data to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of current strategies and recommend improvements or corrective actions.
Cross-functional collaboration
: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input and insights and ensure strategic alignment across departments.
Strategic Recommendations:
prepare and present strategic recommendations, business cases, and progress reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
Innovation
: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging new ideas and approaches.
Enable swift decision making and action
: Synthesise and simplify multiple data sets into a coherent performance report for senior leaders. Draw together recommendations and observations from your analysis and present in a clear way which aids swift decision making and the adjustment of the strategy and strategic narrative if required.
Facilitation of change:
Ability to demonstrate excellent critical thinking in meetings - asking provoking and thoughtful questions whilst facilitating.
Minimum Criteria
Strong leadership and team management skills
Strong storytelling abilities and experience in engaging with, and influencing, stakeholders at various levels across an organisation
Exceptional influencing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise, and engaging manner

This is a people management role. You will be responsible for day to day management of the team and for defining roles and responsibilities. You will develop your team through sharing information effectively, coaching and communicating a clear vision to ensure that your staff are productive, engaged and motivated to deliver the area's aims. This will include setting clear goals and smart stretching objectives that are aligned to those of the team, division and directorate. You will also be responsible for managing all staff-related matters that may arise including performance, absence and sickness.

Salary and Benefits Information
We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.
This role offers a salary of Leeds: 59,520 - 66,960 and London: 66,160 - 74,43. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
