About the Role:



Following the retirement of the current post holder an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced person to lead the Highways Development Control & Strategic Transport Team at Bridgend - an efficient and highly-skilled, small professional team within the Planning & Development Services Group.



This critical role is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the Authority's transportation policies in the context of national, regional and local transportation issues, delivery of the Highway Development Control services and promotion of the active travel agenda. This includes attendance at Regional meetings, co-ordinating the RTF grant submission and providing specialist advice to the Council on strategic highway matters.



The candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of transport policy and highway matters both at a local and regional level together with an understanding and knowledge of the range of management issues confronting the council in the provision of transportation Services and significant experience of highway liaison and development control.
