Complete daily street cleansing tasks per the contract specifications and daily route schedules.
Comply with Health and Safety regulations at all times, including wearing Council-issued uniforms, protective clothing, and footwear.
Ensure personal and public safety by cooperating with managers and supervisors in fulfilling statutory health and safety duties, and report any incidents, accidents, or faults.
Attend training courses as instructed by supervisors.
Perform street cleansing duties as directed by the Cleansing Contract Assistant Manager or Supervisors.
Participate in refuse collection duties as required.
Person Specification
Knowledge of the Newport area is essential.
Understanding of public sector work demands is desirable.
Experience in refuse or cleansing services is advantageous.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Capability to meet targets and deadlines.
Skill in identifying priorities and managing work progress amidst competing demands.
Good customer care skills are essential.
Commitment to personal performance improvement and development.
Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Enthusiasm and interest in serving the public.

Possession of a full UK driving license is desirable.
Stamina for considerable walking, bending, lifting, and carrying duties.
Ability to work a rostered shift pattern, including weekends, Bank Holidays, and extra statutory days.
