About the role
Join our team as a Street Cleansing Operative on the Hereford Street Lighting Contract for the UKCS Living Places business. This is a fixed term contract until May 2026, based in Hereford. You'll be part of a dedicated team, reporting to the Operations Manager, and play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for the local community.
What you'll be doing
Your accountabilities will be as follows:

  • Collecting litter bins and carrying out litter picking across designated areas.
  • Removing fly tipping and collecting dead animals as required.
  • Supporting other reactive teams during winter and emergency incidents.
  • Performing mechanical road sweeping (if applicable) and other cleansing services.
  • Carrying out Point of Work Risk Assessments for all tasks.
  • Using electronic applications as trained to support your daily duties.
  • Upholding a high standard of work with a "Right First-Time" attitude.
  • Contributing to a positive safety culture and supporting innovations within the team.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for the following:
  • Someone who advocates for safety and demonstrates strong Health & Safety awareness.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
  • Has experience working within a Public Realm or Maintenance environment.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Shows initiative and a willingness to contribute ideas for improvement.
  • Comfortable using electronic applications after training.
